Hey there, Dave here. You’re going to want to hear this one. You know that first leather bag that I had made back in 1999? Well, I made it while I was a volunteer English teacher at Centro NOE in Morelia, central Mexico to carry my student’s books and homework papers in. Now, they’re opening up a Centro NOE by our factory and we need your help in three different ways. 1. Become an Angel Sponsor. We’re looking for at least 30 Angel Sponsors to give $30 per month for kids in very hard situations to be able to study at one of the most excellent English schools in Mexico. Life shifting for sure. 2. Commit to volunteer as an English teacher for a year, like so many other Americans. You don’t need any experience and non-Spanish speakers can be even more impactful. 3. Bring a group down to Leon for a week or two to practice English with the kids and help us at the school. We fully trust and support Centro NOE (NOE International based out of Portland, Oregon) because they are a highly financially accountable non-profit through the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) and they do super significant life altering work which usually reshapes the whole family and community. These students not only become fluent in English, but they also get homework help, sports, art, and music opportunities. But most importantly, they all hear the good message of Jesus. Juan Peralta was a NOE student while I was teaching English in 1999 to 2000 and is now the Executive Director of NOE International. He directs Morelia’s four in-person centers and one online center, impacting approximately 1,300 students each week. Now with the Leon campus and hopefully more campuses in Leon, he’ll be even more impactful. You can learn more about the Angel Sponsorship Program or connect with NOE at info@noeinternational.org about all the ways to get involved.
