The history that connects the Maison
to the world of dance starts with
Louis Arpels. Passionate about ballet,
he liked to take his nephew Claude to
the Opéra Garnier, located near
the Place Vendôme boutique. Under their
leadership, Van Cleef & Arpels' first
ballerinas were born in the early 1940s,
marking the beginning of an emblematic
tradition. Their ethereal stances and
the beauty of their costumes soon made
them popular with collectors.

The Maison has never ceased since then to
pay tribute to this source of inspiration it
holds dear. The Ballet Précieux
High Jewelry collection launched
in 2007 highlights this art. A new chapter
in 2023 features iconic classic and
romantic works, as well as famous
ballerinas through ten new clips.
