The story began in 1895 in Paris
with the marriage of Estelle Arpels and
Alfred Van Cleef, both coming from
families of jewelry merchants.
In 1906, Van Cleef & Arpels is founded
at 22 Place Vendôme, uniting their
names into a single bejeweled destiny.

In the same year, the first piece mentioned
in the sales register is a heart set with
diamonds. From High Jewelry to
Watchmaking, this theme has never
ceased to nurture Van Cleef & Arpels'
creativity. Symbolic flowers,
couples of animals and cupids
enliven its poetic universe.
