Hey there,

I had one of those moments today. You know the kind – staring at my screen at 11pm, wondering why I always seem to do my best work when I’m racing against the clock. (Maybe you can relate?)

It got me thinking about our relationship with time and pressure.

So many of us in this community are what you might call “crisis junkies” – we consistently pull off our best work when we’re up against the wall. And sure, it works… until it doesn’t.

Here’s something fascinating we’ve discovered in our research: This last-minute magic isn’t actually about time management at all. It’s about where we fall on what we call the Procrastination Matrix.

The matrix shows us something pretty wild: we procrastinate differently depending on two things:

  1. How much we actually care about what we’re doing
  2. How hard it feels in the moment

And this creates four distinct patterns that explain why we put things off:

There are the easy things we don’t care about (hello, inbox zero), which just float around in our mental space taking up energy.

Then there are those harder tasks we’re avoiding because they feel meaningless (taxes, anyone?).

Sometimes we even procrastinate on easy things we do care about (like sending that important email that would take 5 minutes).

And finally – this is the big one – those meaningful projects we keep putting off because they matter so much (your book, your business plan, that presentation that could change everything).

Here’s the thing: traditional “just break it down into smaller steps” advice misses the point entirely. Each of these patterns needs a completely different approach.

I see this play out in our community all the time. We all know that last-minute pressure isn’t sustainable, but we keep falling back into it because… well, it works. Until it doesn’t. Until we burn out. Until we realize we’re capable of so much more than just fighting fires.

That’s why we built our framework differently. Instead of trying to force yourself out of crisis mode (which never works), we help you understand your specific pattern and work with it. Because once you understand why you actually procrastinate, you can start shifting from crisis-driven to purposefully productive.

Speaking of time – our Black Friday offer just went live. For the first time, we’re offering 45% off All-Access membership. This includes our complete framework for breaking out of crisis-mode productivity, plus our entire library of tools for sustainable success.
