Hello, EmailTuna!

Summer is here, and this week’s Three Things is all about making the most of it. Let’s dive in!

1. Free Summer Camp! ๐Ÿ•๏ธ

We’ll be traveling this summer, but I still like to get my kids into camps to learn new things. ๐Ÿค“ That’s why I’m excited about the #LifeSkillsNow online Summer Camp that is totally free! Fifty camp leaders are teaching workshops for kids ages 5-18, and some workshops are for parents of preschoolers, too. (You can sign up here!)

Your kids (and you!) will:
  • Learn basic skills for communication and handling big emotions ๐Ÿฅต
  • Gain an understanding of money and where it comes from
  • Build skills for living like cooking, organizing, and screen wellness ๐Ÿณ
  • Learn how to be heard and get what they want (when kids don’t have this skill, they can nag and whine incessantly).
This virtual camp is just to the widest selection of topics you can imagine in one summer camp – your kids can explore and find something they’re passionate about (and a camp leader they love learning from) with no risk (and no charge)! ๐ŸŽ‰

2. Books to Talk about Big Feelings with Kids ๐Ÿ“š

With all of the heartbreaking news -- from Uvalde to Ukraine -- kids have a lot to process and a lot of big emotions to navigate. ๐Ÿ˜ญ ๐Ÿ’” Here are a few books to help talk about emotions with you kids:

Reading together is one of the greatest gifts you can give a child, giving little minds a safe place to think and ponder with you.

3. Slow Down This Summer ๐Ÿฆฅ

Summers can be jam packed with vacations and sports, but there’s something so idyllic about a lazy, slow summer. Blissful, even!

Here are a few ideas to help you slow down this summer:

  • Spend time outside -- nature never hurries! ๐ŸŒณ
  • Unplug from technology and get some new books to dive into ๐Ÿ“•
  • Schedule free time with no expectations โ˜ฎ๏ธ
  • Make a goal to learn a new skill like gardening, singing, playing the piano or learning a new language. โœ…

As this upcoming weekend is the unofficial start of summer, I hope you have a truly blessed and peaceful summer, mama! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Genevieve
