Summer knitting calls for lighter yarns and Dapple, definitely fits the bill! This American merino and organic cotton blend delivers all the rustic beauty that Brooklyn Tweed is known for in soft, tonal colors that will make your summer garments pop!

Dapple in Cerise
Dapple's soft, organic cotton brings a rich tonality to the dye process. Each skein is different and the hues range from light to dark within each colorway -- no dyelots to coordinate! This, along with the cotton slubs, brings a uniquely dappled quality to each skein, giving you the freedom to create faded, striped and ombre looks in Brooklyn Tweed style!

Just like our beloved Shelter, Dapple is woolen spun, which imparts a loftiness that maintains the softness of the organic cotton + the memory and bounce of merino. Brooklyn Tweed's goal was to create a yarn that knits like wool and wears like cotton: mission accomplished! 

EBBIE
Ebbie by Alice Caetano beautifully plays up Dapple's tonality. This cardigan is knit sideways with textured stitches that ripple from center to sleeve hem, mimicking the wind on the water and the ruffled ridges of dunes. 

To knit Ebbie, you'll need:
  • 8-15 skeins of Dapple, depending on your chosen size
  • US 5 48” circular needle
  • Ebbie Pattern Ravelry

Top left: Graphic Elements (Ravelry) by Tamy Gore is a stunning colorwork statement on a beautifully modern yolked sweater. Choose 1 main color and 2 contrast colors of Dapple for maximum impact!

Top right: Ship Shape (Ravelry) by Heidi Kirrmaier can be sublimely striped or color blocked - your choice! To knit this boat-necked pullover, you'll need 6-11 skeins, depending on your size. 

Bottom left: Ezra (Ravelry) by Jared Flood is a sweet cardi for little ones in newborn to 2 year sizes that calls for 3-5 skeins of Dapple.

Bottom right: Gossy (Ravelry) by Jared Flood is a fun and functional baby bonnet that encourages you to play with color! Grab 1 skein of Dapple for a solid bonnet or 2 skeins for color blocking or stripes!

When ordering Dapple, we encourage you to be as adventurous as you are with hand dyed skeins. All the shades are beautiful, and part of the fun is the surprise!
