SUMMER KNITS WITH NORO AKARI

Noro Akari is back in stock in all of your favorite colors plus four brand new shades!

Thanks to its silky feel and luscious drape, our love for Akari knows no bounds! It's definitely a departure from the rustic Noro you might be accustomed to. Akari is a worsted weight blend of buttery silk and plush cotton with just a touch of wool, mohair, and viscose for structure, making it an excellent option for your lighter weight, warmer weather knitting!

Akari is spun into massive, 200g / 524yd skeins and is dyed with the traditional Noro striping pattern. However, Akari's stripes are gradual and primarily tonal, keeping within one color family - you still get the bold Noro color you love but with a summery twist!

BROKEN GARTER BLANKET IN AKARI

During spring and summer, we tend to cast on for light, fun projects. Our Broken Garter Blanket in Noro Akari is a simple pattern that's mostly garter stitch (a few purls help create those satisfying columns).

This project won't take too much mental energy but it keeps your hands in motion while you're at the park soaking up some sun, or in the evenings while you're relaxing in front of the TV. And the resulting blanket is soft, lofty, and not *too* warm!

And Akari's comfortable drape means this versatile throw will look stunning draped over the back of your sofa or folded at the foot of your bed. Its cozy softness is perfect for keeping the drafts at bay during afternoon naps and cuddling up under on movie nights.

To give your blanket a cohesive color story, we suggest you choose 2 Akari colorways from the same color family. Your blanket will pop with lots of beautiful tones but still have a uniform look. We used Hitachi Park + Amur Adonis for our blue blanket!

Or, if you want to knit with ALL the colors, choose two different color families for a stripe-tastic design!
