FORSYTHIAN IN FELTED TWEED

With its botanical yoke detailing and heathered, autumnal color palette, Forsythian, by designer Jen Steingass, gives us all the cozy, cold weather vibes!

Loop staffer and sweater knitter extraordinaire Kathleen knit this gorgeous sample in Rowan Felted Tweed, a quintessential DK weight wool for all of your fall garment and accessory knitting!

Felted Tweed is one of Rowan's most beloved yarns. This soft blend of wool, alpaca, and viscose has a slightly felted texture that creates a distinctively classic, heathered look.

This yarn is a dream come true for colorwork knitters. We stock over 30 colors of Felted Tweed, giving you the opportunity to create bespoke palettes for every project color preference.

Forsythian is knit in the round in one piece, which means you'll start at the neck ribbing and colorwork yoke increases, then put your sleeve stitches on hold to knit after you finish knitting the body. What's the benefit of knitting top-down? There's no seaming, and you can try your sweater on as you knit it!

This pattern includes instructions for 13 bust sizes, ranging from 36-67". Choose a size that's 3-6" larger than your actual bust size to achieve this pattern's recommended ease.

To knit Forsythian, you'll need:

6-12 skeins of Felted Tweed for the main color (shown in Boulder)
2 skeins of Felted Tweed for contrast color 1 (shown in Ginger)
1 skein of Felted Tweed for contrast color 2 (shown in Peach)
US 4 32" circular needles + US 4 16" circular needles OR US 4 DPNs for collar, sleeve, and waistband ribbing
US 5 32" circular needle for body fabric + US 5 16" circular needles OR US 5 DPNs for sleeve fabric
