DOT KNOTS IN FIBERSTORY CORE DK

We're head over heels for hand dyes, and Fiberstory Core DK is one of those amazing yarns that instantly makes knitters ooh and ahh over its wow-worthy color and squishable softness!

We just got a big Core DK restock with 20 new colors, including semi-solids! So, today we're bringing you a few smaller-scale sweater ideas for babies and kids that highlight the potential of this incredible yarn!

First up is Dot Knots Kid by designer Lori Versaci. Read on for all the details!

If you're new to Core DK, allow us to acquaint you!

Dyed in the same stop-you-in-your-tracks colorways as Fiberstory Fave Sock, Core DK is a plump, round, DK weight yarn that delivers excellent stitch definition for knits of all kinds, like sweaters, scarves, cowls, hats, and even blankets!

Because it's a 100% superwash merino, Core DK is inherently soft with fuss-free care. Just pop your knits into a cold, gentle cycle, then lay them flat to dry!

And about those eye-popping colors- Core DK's tonal, variegated, and speckled colorways are beautifully impressionistic. They encourage you to lean in and appreciate their subtle color complexities, but they're never too busy to obscure the details of your knitted items. You can see what we mean with the Dot Knots Kid sweater!

Dot Knots Kid is a super cute crewneck pullover that pairs stockinette with all-over textured stitch detailing. This sweater is knit in pieces and then seamed together.

The textured stitches are essentially modified bobbles. If you're bobble-phobic, don't worry! The pattern gives clear instructions on how to work these stitches. Once you get the hang of it, they become second nature and beautifully deliver depth and texture to an otherwise plain stockinette background!

This sweater is written for sizes spanning from 2-14 years*. We used 2 skeins of Fiberstory Core DK in the Cake colorway to knit the 2-year size.

To knit Dot Knots Kid, you'll need:

2-6 skeins of Core DK, depending on size (we used Cake)
US 6 24" circular needles
US 6 DPNs
Tapestry needle
