I’m delighted to show you our May issue, dedicated to—what else?—the historic new exhibition opening soon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” Our four covers feature the brilliant Met Gala co-chairs Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky, and Colman Domingo, and you’ll find interviews with each of them inside, along with a fashion portfolio shot on an astonishing cast of Black creatives by the inimitable Tyler Mitchell. We also asked the acclaimed playwright Jeremy O. Harris to write an essay celebrating and explaining both the exhibition and his own dandyism. And that’s just a hint of what the issue contains—I can’t wait for you to see it and read it all! |
