In case you missed it, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund announced its 2025 Design Challenge at a cocktail party last Wednesday night. This year’s finalists have been matched with disabled creatives from dance, theater, art, and fashion, and over the next several months, they’ll make one-of-a-kind adaptive looks for their muses. Tilting the Lens’s Sinead Burke is spearheading the project: “Historically, adaptive fashion has been positioned specifically for disabled people—but the reality is, everyone benefits from more accessible, inclusive design,” she told Vogue’s reporter. “With this challenge, we’ve really underlined the idea that lived experience is expertise… What we hope is that this represents a pendulum shift: that luxury fashion begins to truly partner with disabled people to create better fashion for everyone.” |
