We may have just gotten our first real-world look at the iPhone 17 Pro, thanks to a new leak published this week. Specifically, a series of images, which appear to show a development iPhone 17 Pro in a stealth case, was uploaded to social media.
Separately, a series of dummy units has provided us with a glimpse of the potential color options we might get with the iPhone 17 Pro, with an especially vibrant orange colorway. Third-party cases, meanwhile, suggest that Apple is indeed moving the MagSafe charging coil with the iPhone 17 range, while an anonymous source says the iPhone 17 Pro is getting 8x zoom and a new “Pro” camera application.
Our take: AppleInsider has seen Apple’s stealth cases for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 range, and we believe the iPhone 17 Pro pictured is a so-called “Carry” unit, used for real-world testing. The latest assortment of dummy units and cases, meanwhile, aligns with previous leaks concerning the iPhone 17 lineup.

Apple has published its quarterly financial results for Q3 2025, and it has beaten expectations once again. The company’s revenue reached $94.04 billion, up from the $85.78 billion reported in Q3 2024. The earnings per share of $1.57 is also up from the year-ago $1.40. CEO Tim Cook called it “a June quarter revenue record with double-digit growth in iPhone,” highlighting the growth in China and strong Mac business segments.
For the period, iPhone went from $39.3 billion in the year-ago quarter to $44.58 billion this time. Overall, the company has sold 3 billion iPhones since 2007, with tariff-related panic-buying in April 2025 also being noted. Apple expects $2 billion in tariff-related costs by the end of September 2025.
Our take: Apple’s Q3 2025 revenue results have exceeded analysts’ expectations, with notably better-than-expected iPhone sales, as well as growth in China. In addition to the ever-changing tariff situation, Apple is also awaiting the results of a U.S. investigation into semiconductor usage.

Apple will now have to deal with a third lawsuit over its delayed Siri features, after two similar class-action suits were brought against the company in March and May 2025. Siri’s planned Apple Intelligence upgrades were meant to debut with iOS 18.4 but have been delayed to “the coming year.” The tech giant has lost four AI researchers to competitors so far, though Apple has also purchased a few AI companies in Q3 2025.
The iPhone maker is also dealing with an antitrust case in the United States, and recently issued a response to the associated complaints, saying plainly that the “DOJ is wrong.” Over in Europe, Spain's antitrust probe into the App Store is expanding in scope to consider if Apple restricts competition between developers using a pricing schedule.
Our take: Apple is currently dealing with three separate lawsuits related to its delayed Siri upgrade, though it remains to be seen who will win. It’ll also likely be years before a decision is made in the U.S. antitrust case against Apple. In Spain, Apple could face fines of up to 10% of its global turnover in the year before the fine is imposed.

Apple’s iPhone imports from India to the United States could face a 25% tariff, unless the two countries reach a deal. The proposed tariff increase could have a dramatic effect on Apple's bottom line, and the company may have no choice but to absorb its impact.
25% would be a considerable increase on the current 10% import tariff applied against India as of the latest exceptions pending a trade deal. That 10% tariff is also high compared to the 3% tariff on iPhone imports from India to the U.S. before President Trump began his tariff changes. According to a report published this week, 44% of smartphones shipped to the U.S. in Q2 2025 came from India.
Our take: Apple is caught between a rock and a hard place when it comes to the United States’ ever-changing tariff policy. U.S. iPhone manufacturing won’t become a reality anytime soon, and it’s unlikely Apple will turn to China for its’ U.S. iPhone needs. The company may opt to pass the associated costs on to consumers, with one report predicting a $50 price increase for nearly the entire iPhone 17 range.

Tim Cook is constantly criticized, most recently over Apple Intelligence delays and how Apple hasn't bought Perplexity. People are quick to point out how he isn't Steve Jobs, yet this fact is precisely what has made Apple the technological and financial juggernaut it is today. AppleInsider’s William Gallagher and Mike Wuerthele explain exactly how Tim Cook changed Apple over the years, and how he led the company through multiple product launches.
Apple Intelligence is among the most noteworthy products launched under Cook, but Apple’s approach to generative AI isn’t quite as versatile as other tools on the market. OpenAI’s ChatGPT, meanwhile, makes it significantly easier for non-developers to create apps through so-called “vibe coding.” AppleInsider’s Malcolm Owen outlines how he used ChatGPT with Unity on macOS to create a game from scratch. Check out the full story to find out just how useful ChatGPT can be for such an endeavor.
