 | | We are, unfortunately, living in a golden age of ransomware attacks. Ransomware attackers go after not just everyday people, but also entities like pipelines and even city governments. Perhaps not surprisingly, the world of ransomware attackers has grown so sophisticated that it’s basically developed its own underground VC system. And while the U.S. government is apparently unprepared to stop ransomware attacks (our own Senate says so), there are at least some steps you, the regular consumer, can take to help bolster your Internet defenses. Install HTTPS Everywhere, for example. And look into browser compartmentalization.
