Here’s Peccy, the bizarre, beloved mascot you didn’t know Amazon had

April 12, 2019

Good morning!

Big tech companies are not generally known for having lovable mascots. But Amazon is very fond of Peccy, a blobby little orange guy who represents the company’s pride in its “peculiar” spirit. He’s emblazoned on clothing and is the subject of other merchandise from water bottles to Christmas tree ornaments. He has fans all over the world, and at least a few detractors. And if this is news to you, that’s the idea: He is exclusively aimed at Amazon employees, not customers. I learned about Peccy while researching our new profile of Amazon HR chief Beth Galetti, and discovered that he deserved a profile of his own.
