WWDC 2025 has come and gone, but we have a fresh set of iPhone 18, iPhone 19, and iPhone Fold rumors, along with a few tidbits about the Apple Home Hub. President Trump, meanwhile, has announced a new “U.S.-made” iPhone 17 competitor. Apple’s also dealing with a few lawsuits related to the App Store, iCloud, and Siri’s delayed Apple Intelligence features.

Apple is planning to have a punch-hole camera in the iPhone 18 Pro line, with a rumor this week saying the smaller aperture will still be able to handle Face ID. Its successor, the iPhone 19 range, may get a screen with improved energy efficiency, according to a separate report.
The long-rumored Apple Home Hub, meanwhile, has reportedly faced delays, meaning that it might only debut ahead of WWDC 2026. The smart home display has also surfaced in another leak, one sourced from code in the first developer beta for iOS 18.6.
Our take: This isn’t the first time under-display Face ID has been rumored for the iPhone 18 Pro, with claims dating back to 2023. The Apple Home Hub is likely to debut in 2026, given the amount of information we’ve heard about it so far.

The Trump Organization has launched “Trump Mobile” and plans to release the T1, a smartphone it says is "made in the USA," at the same time that the iPhone 17 will launch. It's extremely unlikely that this will be an entirely U.S.-produced smartphone, as cameras, RAM, storage, processors, and screens would need to be imported.
Even though the T1 is an apparent jab at Apple, Foxconn's manufacturing of the iPhone in India shows no signs of slowing down. The supplier reportedly has plans for a new iPhone chassis factory there, in addition to its existing facilities.
Our take: Trump Mobile’s T1 will likely utilize parts from China. There are no domestic AMOLED display manufacturers, and the VCSEL used for face unlock technologies is also produced overseas. Despite President Trump’s criticism of Apple’s manufacturing efforts in India and China, iPhone mass production won’t move to the U.S.

This week, an App Store user filed a lawsuit against Apple because she was duped by a fake cryptocurrency app, even though it was her choice to send money to fairly obvious criminals. The plaintiff reportedly lost $80,000 to an app called Swiftcrypt, and has chosen to blame Apple rather than the people behind the fraudulent app.
A separate class action lawsuit, which alleged that Apple was forcing users to use iCloud, is now moving forward after it was initially dismissed. This week, a judge accepted new evidence from the plaintiffs, and Apple is required to file a response to the court by July 7, 2025.
Our take: The lawsuit over the fraudulent cryptocurrency app unrightfully blames Apple, as only a little bit of research would’ve revealed Swiftcrypt wasn’t what it claimed to be. The iCloud-related lawsuit, meanwhile, has yet to conclude.

The iPhone 18 Pro is just over a year away — we’ll know soon enough if the repeated under-display Face ID rumors were correct. Based on the current state of affairs, it’ll most likely be manufactured in India and China, while the Trump Mobile T1 likely won’t be much of a competitor.
