We have found that many of our customers are on the hunt for a good vest pattern. Modern styling, simple to knit, and easy to wear to keep warm, but not TOO warm! The Carley Vest by Elizabeth Smith definitely fits the bill. We knit ours in Noro's summery Kumo yarn for a pretty outfit topper to ward off the chilly A.C.! | | Kumo is a blend of cotton and viscose with a little helping of silk and wool. The result is a soft, light yarn with a subtle sheen in a pale palette for warmer warmer. As with most Noro yarns, Kumo does stripe but the colors are a gradient of a single color family creating a more subtle shift between colors. It adds a beautiful tweedy effect and makes your stockinette more fun! | | Carley is knit from the bottom up all in one piece and she is all about the details! Once you've knit the front and back at the armholes, you rejoin with a 3-needle bind off, creating an exposed seam. The shoulder seam placement sits back on your shoulders setting the modern drape of the vest. | | The flattering hem is longer at the back and has a garter side seam detail that mimics the front bands of the sweater. There's also a little I-cord edging that keeps the split hem crisp and clean! | | Wear Carley over a tank top and jeans to dress up a casual summer outfit. Or, throw it on over your favorite sundress for chilly evenings. Kumo is such a versatile yarn that you can easily layer over long sleeved shirts this Fall as well! Be sure to check out how designer Elizabeth Smith styles it on her pattern page! | | To make the Carley Vest, you'll need: Finished Circumference: 35 (41, 45.75, 50.25, 55, 60, 65)” 2 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5) skeins of Kumo.
