NEW MAIDA WRAPS!
One of our favorite summertime projects is the Maida wrap! This summer we've knit two new versions; a new colorway in Shibui Lunar and an entirely new Maida in Shibui Vine!
Our classic Maida Wrap is knit in Shibui Lunar, a stunning silk merino blend. This yarn feels fantastic! The silk gives it a slight shimmer and adds incredible softness and drape to the fabric while staying light as feather.

After the original colorway we used was discontinued, it gave us an excellent excuse to cast on in a brand new hue. We chose blueprint, a stunning true blue that will go with all of your summer ensembles!
We knit Maida with a single strand of Lunar on a US 7 needle. Knitting garter stitch with a laceweight yarn on a larger needle creates soft, cushy fabric. It can open up into a big cozy wrap or compress down into a scarf!
Sometimes garter stitch can have an uneven edge, so we've added a fun twist to this simple beauty. At the end of each row, you'll work a slip stitch i-cord. This adds interest to the knitting and creates a tidy, minimal edging.
Maida is very much suitable for novice knitters; you just need to know how to cast on, knit, increase and cast off. Really, that's it! 
 
To make Maida, you'll need:

2 skeins of Shibui Lunar- we used the blueprint colorway.
US7 32-inch circular needle

MAIDA IN SHIBUI VINE
Next up, is our new Maida in Shibui Vine! A cotton and paper tape wrapped in silk, this is Shibui's most innovative yarn to date. If you've already knit a Maida in Lunar, try it out in Vine for a completely different look! 
The silk wrap is a slightly deeper shade of the yarn's color, adding gorgeous depth to this highly textural yarn. Crisp and cool, Vine softens as you work with it and then relaxes even more after blocking. If you've been looking to vary your yarn choices, Vine is an exciting place to start!
Vine is a bit thicker than Lunar, so this version isn't as deep. It will keep the chill off your shoulder and easily scrunch down to the perfect scarf size. Have it at the ready to throw on to add texture and flair to your go-to Zoom meeting outfit!

Keep this version in mind as a thoughtful gift idea for those who are allergic to wool or live in warmer climates year round. Cast on now, and have it done in plenty of time for the holidays!
