WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TODAY

UNITED'S NEW ELITE UPGRADES

I hate to be the bearer of bad news — fortunately, today I have a rare (and very significant) positive airline loyalty change to share! United's loyalty chief sat down with Brian Kelly to detail upcoming improvements in an exclusive Talking Points podcast episode, but I'll dig into a few of the specifics here as well.

United Airlines just announced that it'll be changing up its upgrade system beginning in December. Global Premier Upgrades (GPUs) and Regional Premier Upgrades (RPUs) will be replaced by "PlusPoints," a new loyalty currency that MileagePlus elites will use exclusively to upgrade flights to first and regional business class, Premium Plus and long-haul Polaris.

For the full scoop, don't miss:

I highly recommend listening to Brian's podcast with Luc for more PlusPoints details, United's unpublicized status-hold program and a comprehensive look at MileagePlus. This episode is not to be missed!
