Hope your Sunday is off to a great start!

It was another busy week in the travel industry for news. There were several travel deal announcements, including the ability to redeem just 55,000 Alaska Airlines miles for Condor’s new business class to Frankfurt. And if you’re planning to book a United Airlines flight for travel before Sept. 20, see if you can register for the airline’s latest Mile Play promotion to earn some extra miles on your flight.

Two accessibility announcements were released: United will start adding Braille to onboard signage, and the Department of Transportation will require airplane lavatories to become more wheelchair-friendly. While each announcement on its own might not seem like huge news, it is signaling an awareness (finally) across the industry that travel must become more accessible. According to the World Health Organization, “an estimated 1.3 billion people — about 16% of the global population — currently experience significant disability.”
