UPDATED AMENITIES |
While some airlines plan to reduce onboard amenities, Delta Air Lines is improving its inflight service concept.
Starting March 1, hot, plated meals are officially making a comeback on Delta's domestic and short-haul international flights, replacing the boxed and prepackaged meals that we've seen for almost two years now.
Plus, in the coming weeks, flights will come equipped with new amenity kits, bedding, cutlery and beverage selections on board. These amenities will reduce single-use plastics (by nearly 5 million pounds annually!) and support minority- and women-run businesses.
This also means that Delta's partnerships with Tumi and Westin will come to a close. While this may be disappointing for some passengers, the reimagined onboard experience will be a better move for the environment. Read our full updates, along with other stories on sustainable travel: While I'm excited to finally enjoy a "real" meal on board, I'm also looking forward to the new business-class amenity kits designed by Mexican apparel brand Someone Somewhere.
