Others can't afford to get to the airport, though — as a result, they're calling out sick, leaving checkpoints understaffed. One major airport's solution? Shutting down an entire terminal. It's a drastic measure to say the least.

United's latest Polaris Lounge opens this morning, at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Passengers flying long-haul business or first class on United or Star Alliance will be able to get in — it's at Terminal 7, near the United gates, and a 20-minute walk from Tom Bradley.
