| The perfect pair | by Kyle Olsen, Points & Miles Reporter | | | The best-ever sign-up bonus on the Citi Rewards+® Card is about to end. While the 25,000-point sign-up bonus might not sound exciting, this no-annual-fee card has a unique feature: 10% back on the first 100,000 points you redeem yearly.
If you have both the Citi Rewards+ and Citi Premier Card, you can get 10% of your points back on transfers to Citi’s 14 airline and three hotel partners. The Citi Premier® Card currently has a 60,000-point sign-up bonus after you spend $4,000 in the first three months of card membership, while the Citi Rewards+® Card has a $1,500 spend requirement within the first three months to earn the 25,000 bonus points.
By applying for both cards and meeting the requirements for the sign-up bonuses, you’d have at least 85,000 Citi ThankYou points in your account. A great way to maximize Citi ThankYou points is by combining Citi’s frequent transfer bonuses and the 10% points rebate.
For example, Air France-KLM Flying Blue routinely offers Promo Rewards flights to Europe for as few as 11,750 miles. And earlier this year, Citi offered a 25% transfer bonus. So by transferring 10,000 points to Flying Blue with a 25% transfer bonus and receiving the 10% Citi Rewards+ rebate, you’d have 12,500 Flying Blue miles in exchange for only 9,000 Citi ThankYou points.
