| Big perks, low annual fee | by Tarah Chieffi, Travel News Reporter | | | Premium travel credit cards can provide major perks like hotel and airline status, lounge access and, as we discussed yesterday, free checked bags. But you don’t have to pay an annual fee upward of $500 to reap lucrative hotel, airline, cash-back and points-earning benefits.
I have the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card in my wallet and enjoy complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Silver elite status and get a free night reward each year, among other perks. There are a lot of other hotel credit cards with annual fees under $100, as well. No matter which hotel brand you are loyal to, these cards offer some great benefits for a low annual fee.
There are also cobranded airline credit cards that more than cover the low annual fee with the perks you receive through the welcome bonus and the regular annual benefits. With my Southwest Rapid Rewards Premier Credit Card, for example, I earn additional points every time I fly Southwest — which is often — and 6,000 bonus points (worth $90 according to TPG’s current valuations) each year for a $95 annual fee.
If you are in the market for a card with strong earnings on everyday purchases, check out our list of the best credit cards with annual fees under $100. Here are full reviews on a couple of my favorites: Catch you back here tomorrow,
Tarah
